OnePlus Ace 2V launch today: time, how to watch live stream, specifications and more

OnePlus is expected to launch a new smartphone in its home turf, China, today on March 7th. Ahead of the launch, a host of OnePlus Ace 2V specifications have been tipped online, including a bunch of posters of the smartphone that have been posted on social media by the brand itself.

Given that the last OnePlus Ace 2 that was launched came to India as the OnePlus 11R, there is a strong possibility that the OnePlus Ace 2V will make its way to India as the brand’s next sub-premium range smartphone, or perhaps even as the OnePlus Nord 3, as rumours seem suggest.

Now, ahead of the launch, here’s looking at everything that we know so far about the smartphone, and what it is likely to offer users.

OnePlus Ace 2V launch date, time how to watch live stream

The OnePlus Ace 2V smartphone is launching in China, so users outside of China will not have ready, direct access to the live stream of the launch the way we do for YouTube-streamed live launches globally. However, OnePlus will be broadcasting the launch of the Ace 2V on its official Weibo handle, which you can access here.

The OnePlus Ace 2V launch is scheduled at 2:30PM China time, on March 7th. Users in India will, therefore, be able to see the launch at 12PM IST.

No word yet on the OnePlus Ace 2V price

At the moment, there has been no word regarding the launch price of the upcoming OnePlus Ace 2V. Given its branding, it is clear that the smartphone will not be a direct successor to the Ace 2, but will line-up alongside the latter. The Ace 2 went on sale in China last month, on February 13th, at CNY 2,799 (around Rs 33,100).

It is interesting to note that the Ace 2, which is rebranded to OnePlus 11R in India, sells onward of Rs 38,999 in the country. Most reports have claimed that due to a key difference in the set of specifications, the Ace 2V could be a more affordable version of the Ace 2 series (possibly named differently outside of China).

OnePlus Ace 2V design

The key difference between the OnePlus Ace 2V and the already-launched Ace 2 appear to lie in design, and one key specification set. Starting with the design, as per the official OnePlus teasers posted on Weibo, the Ace 2V appears to feature flat side edges, with an alert slider and the power button to the right. The volume rocker is to the left, and the display is flanked by uniform bezels.

The front camera drill-hole slot is placed at the centre, while apart from the edges, the biggest differentiating factor between the Ace 2 and 2V lie in the camera module. While the latter had an elaborate camera module at the rear, the Ace 2V appears to have functional ones — with two standalone cutouts for three rear cameras, and two LED flashes to the top-left corner.

The OnePlus Ace 2V is, however, tipped to feature similar ceramic and sandstone rear finishes that are similar to the OnePlus 11R (or Ace 2).

OnePlus Ace 2V specifications

In terms of released specifications, the key differentiator is expected to be the chipset onboard — the OnePlus Ace 2V is expected to run on the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC. This is tipped to be paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X memory, and 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. A 6.74-inch, 10-bit AMOLED display has been tipped with HDR10+ certification, and 2772 x 1240 pixels screen resolution that appears to be the same as the OnePlus Ace 2V.

While camera details are yet to be revealed, rumours expect it to feature at least a 50MP primary camera, similar to the Ace 2. The Ace 2V is also said to be powered by a 5,000mAh battery and 80W fast charging. More details are expected soon, once the OnePlus Ace 2V goes official.

Several rumours have claimed that the Ace 2V could be launched globally as the Nord 3, the company’s official mid-premium segment smartphone. While there is no confirmed word on this, isolated rumours about the Nord 3 seem to have tipped different sets of specifications, and it remains to be seen if there is any design resemblance between the two, when the purported Nord 3 nears launch.
