
The OnePlus Ace 5 series will be expanding with new variants next week, the company has announced through a Weibo post. The new models in question are the OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra (Supreme Edition) and Ace 5 Pro Racing Edition. The Weibo post also sheds light on the chipsets powering them.
These two phones are the latest to join the OnePlus Ace 5 lineup, which currently includes the Ace 5 and Ace 5 Pro. Among the two, the Ace 5 launched as the OnePlus 13R in markets outside China including India. Similarly, the OnePlus Ace 5 Racing Edition is expected to arrive as the Nord 5 in India.
New OnePlus Ace series phones
- OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra and Ace 5 Racing Edition will be launching in China next week but the exact date hasn’t been revealed yet.
- The OnePlus Ace 5 Racing edition will be powered by the new MediaTek Dimensity 9400e chipset. It’s the second phone confirmed to feature this chipset after the Realme GT 7.
- Meanwhile, the Ace 5 Ultra will get the MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ chipset that also powers the OPPO Find X8s, Find X8 Plus and the Vivo X200s.
- Like with most Ace branded models, the new Ace 5 Racing Edition and Ace 5 Ultra should be limited to China.
- The Weibo post adds that the phones will offer the highest average frame rate.
- Both models will get a 120Hz refresh rate. While the Racing Edition will get a 1080p display, the Ace 5 Ultra will feature a 1.5K panel.
- Lastly, OnePlus says the Ace 4 Racing Edition will crush all the products under CNY 2,500 (around Rs 29,700), which could be its starting price range.
OnePlus Ace 5 Racing and Ace 5 Ultra: what do we know so far?
OnePlus Ace Ultra
- The OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra appeared on the Geekbench platform with the model number PLC110.
- It has managed to score 2,779 and 8,660 points in the single and multi-core rounds, respectively.
- The MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ chipset will be paired with 16GB RAM and Android 15 OS.
- Leaks suggest the Ultra model could sport a large 6.83-inch LTPS OLED display.
- It could feature a large 7,000mAh battery with 100W wired fast charging.
- The phone may house a 50MP dual camera setup on the back, and a 16MP lens on the front for selfies.
OnePlus Ace Racing Edition
- OnePlus Ace 5 Racing Edition is said to sport a 6.77-inch LTPS OLED display.
- The phone is expected to have the same camera setup as the Ultra model.
- The battery could still be 7,000mAh, but the fast charging speed is said to be 80W.
As mentioned above, the OnePlus Ace 5 Racing Edition is expected to launch as a rebranded Nord 5 in markets outside China. There are rumours about the new Nord series but OnePlus hasn’t made any official confirmation yet.
