OnePlus has announced that its long-rumoured truly wireless earphones, whose name has been confirmed as OnePlus Buds, will launch in India on July 21st. The first-ever OnePlus TWS earphones will break cover in the country alongside the OnePlus Nord smartphone. The brand claims that OnePlus Buds are designed to deliver “high-quality” audio playback and “easy to use experience” on the go. The earphones’ design is yet to be revealed officially, but rumours are rife that it’ll be inspired by Apple’s AirPods. The OnePlus Buds may come with an in-ear design that is likely to ensure a tight seal and decent passive noise cancellation and a long stem.
“With the new OnePlus Buds, we are further building out our portfolio of products that give our users a burdenless experience,” said Pete Lau Founder and CEO of OnePlus. “Our users are looking for the right combination of great sound quality, seamless connectivity, and easy-to-use experience. That’s exactly what the OnePlus Buds will deliver.”
The OnePlus Buds will be accompanied by a compact charging case that seems similar to Google’s latest-generation Pixel Buds, with LED light indicating charge status on the front. There could be some sort of OnePlus fast charging feature on the case, but details about it as with other specifications of the OnePlus Buds remain vague at the moment.
Talking about the OnePlus Nord, it’ll be a mid-range offering with a sticker price of under Rs 40,000. The handset will be powered by Snapdragon 765G 5G chipset and sport a 90Hz display with a pill-shaped punch-hole for dual selfie cameras. The OnePlus Nord is rumoured to be 6.44-inch tall and feature 32MP + 8MP selfie cameras on the front. The quad-rear camera of the phone may house a 48MP + 8MP + 5MP + 2MP sensors. It is said to run Android 10-based Oxygen OS 10 and fueled by a 4,115mAh battery with 30T Warp fast charging tech. The smartphone will come in 128GB and 256GB storage variants, according to a recent leak. Colour options reportedly will be Blue Marbel, Gray Onyx, and Gray Ash.
