OnePlus GM1915 gets Bluetooth SIG certification; could be OnePlus 7 or 5G phone

OnePlus has a couple of devices lined up for the release in the next few months. The company is expected to launch a 5G smartphone and as well as its next affordable flagship, dubbed the OnePlus 7. The latter has been the rounds of the internet quite a bit lately. The handset has been the subject to a number of leaks and rumours. Most recently, the marketing product video of the OnePlus 7 surfaced to reveal the triple rear cameras and pop-up selfie camera. Now, an upcoming OnePlus device with model number GM1915 has been spotted on Bluetooth SIG listing.

It isn’t clear if the certified device will turn out to be the successor of OnePlus 6 or the OnePlus 5G smartphone but, we can tell you the device will offer Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity. Moreover, it also confirms that the release of the handset is around the corner. Speculations are that the OnePlus could introduce the smartphones in Q2 2019.

Going by the previous leaks and rumours, the OnePlus 7 is expected to boast of a refreshed design. Unlike last year’s OnePlus 6 duo, the next-generation model will reportedly flaunt a notch-less display. The selfie camera will retract from the top edge, just like the OPPO F11 Pro. Moreover, OnePlus 7 is tipped to be the brand’s first smartphone to feature triple-rear camera setup.

On the display front, the phone is likely to come with AMOLED display with a fingerprint sensor embedded for optical biometrics. It’s not confirmed yet, but OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 5G will use Qualcomm’s latest 7nm Snapdragon 855 chipset, with the latter getting the X50 modem to support 5G networks. The SoC is expected to be paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB storage.
