OnePlus could soon expand its budget smartphone lineup in India with a new and even more affordable model. The company is reportedly preparing to launch the OnePlus N6 Lite in the country, with the smartphone expected to debut by the end of September. If the report is accurate, the N6 Lite would become the third smartphone in OnePlus’ budget lineup, following the OnePlus N6 and OnePlus N6x.
According to a leak by tipster Abhishek on X, the OnePlus N6 Lite is s expected to launch by the end of this month. No specific date has been mentioned yet. But considering the launch is tipped for the end of this month, we could start seeing teasers very soon. Since it would be the third smartphone in the brand’s budget-focused N-series, OnePlus appears to be continuing its push into the budget segment.
The OnePlus N6x currently occupies the entry point into OnePlus’ budget lineup, starting at Rs 20,999 after the recent price hike. Introducing the N6 Lite below that price would give buyers an option for an even more affordable OnePlus smartphone. While an even cheaper OnePlus phone sounds appealing, the real test will be whether it can deliver a compelling user experience without compromising too much on the brand’s perceived quality.
What OnePlus plans to offer in terms of hardware remains to be seen. For context, the OnePlus N6x comes with a 6.8-inch HD+ LCD 120Hz display, the MediaTek Dimensity 6360 Apex SoC, and a 7,000mAh battery. It has a single 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera.
We don’t know anything about the OnePlus N6 Lite’s specs yet, but we expect to get more details soon. If your budget is strictly below Rs 20,000 and you are considering a OnePlus phone, it may be worth waiting for the N6 Lite before making a purchase. However, buyers should wait for the official specifications and pricing before deciding.
