OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite is believed to be one of the two Nord phones coming up soon, with the other one being the Nord 2T. Earlier this week, we exclusively revealed a first look at the OnePlus Nord 2T. Now, 91mobiles brings you early renders of the OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite courtesy of an industry source. These renders give us a running idea of what to expect in terms of design, although the final product will look slightly different. The OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite renders tell us a good deal about the fingerprint sensor placement, rear panel finish, rear camera system, and SIM tray, among other things.

This is the OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite

Let’s start with the back of the OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite. Unlike the sandstone finish on the Nord 2T, the Nord CE 2 Lite will get a glossy plastic rear panel with curved sides. The curved panel meets the frame and then flattens out. The curved sides and flat metal frame aim to offer a comfortable yet premium in-hand feel. The rear panel houses a rectangular camera module that houses two large camera sensors, a smaller third camera, and an LED flash.

Moving on to the frame, there are a lot of elements here. There is a flat side-mounted fingerprint sensor on the right. The left side sees the volume controls and a hybrid SIM slot. That’s right, the Lite model will be getting a hybrid SIM tray instead of a dedicated slot for a micro-SD card. The bottom of the phone gets a Type-C port, speaker grille, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Staying true to past reports, there is no Alert Slider on this device.

This is everything we know about the OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite’s design based on the renders. It falls in line with a sketch that was posted online last month. According to our source, the display offers a punch-hole camera in the top left corner.

We are told that the OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite will be the first Nord phone with Android 12 out of the box. As for the rear camera system, expect a high-resolution primary camera and two 2MP sensors. There is no ultra-wide camera, as per our source.

OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite specifications

According to previous reports, the OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite features a 6.58-inch FHD+ display with support for up to 120Hz refresh rate. Powering the device is the Snapdragon 695 5G chipset paired with up to 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage.

In the camera department, the OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite is rumoured to feature a 64MP OmniVision primary sensor accompanied by a 2MP macro lens and a 2MP mono lens. At the front, expect to see a 16MP sensor for selfies. The handset could pack a 5,000mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging.

As the name suggests, the OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite is a step down from the Nord CE 2. The latter was launched in India with a starting price of Rs 23,999. One speculates that the upcoming lite version will be priced even lower, perhaps under Rs 20,000.
