“A short, picture-filled review of the OnePlus One.”

The OnePlus One (Camera Review | FAQs) has generated a lot of interest on the internet, in large part due to its innovative marketing campaign. The smartphone was created as part of a community-driven project, and carried on the same theme in software, choosing to forgo regular Android for the open-source Android-based CyanogenMod firmware instead. OnePlus hasn’t been shy with the device’s specifications either, packing in a 5.5-inch full HD display, a quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, 3GB of RAM, 13MP/5MP cameras and a 3,100mAh battery. Add to this, a tantalising starting price of $299, and you have a smartphone that’s almost too good to resist. The OnePlus One isn’t available in India yet, but it will be soon, and when it does, we anticipate it’s going to generate plenty of demand. The company will sell the device through country-specific invites, which means stocks will be few. Before you start scavenging for invites though, flip through our review in pictures to see if it’s really worth the hype.
