A new OnePlus tablet with model number ‘OPD2415’ has appeared on Geekbench. While some rumors suggest it’s the OnePlus Pad 2 Pro, an FCC listing shows its marketing name as the OnePlus Pad 3. The Pad 2 Pro may be a separate device, recently spotted on OPPO China’s website. In any case, the Geekbench listing reveals key specs of the OnePlus Pad 3.
Here’s a quick look at that, and let’s see how it compares to the OnePlus Pad 2.
OnePlus Pad 3 Geekbench listing (expected)
- As per the Geekbench listing shared by tipster Abhishek Yadav, we can see the OnePlus OPD2415 tablet with a 3,067 single-core score and an 8,897 multi-core score. Meanwhile, the OnePlus Pad 2 in our review got only a 940 single-core score and a 4,639 multi-core score. So, the new tablet could see a significant performance boost.
- The listing reveals the OnePlus Pad 3 has a Snapdragon 8 Elite inside. The chip’s core structure is shown to be: 2 performance cores running at a 4.32 GHz clock speed and 6 efficiency cores running at 3.53 GHz. Meanwhile, the OnePlus Pad 2’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 has 1 prime core running at 3.3 GHz, along with 3 performance cores clocked at 3.2 GHz and 2 performance cores running at 3.0 GHz and the final 2 efficiency cores running at 2.3 GHz.
- Besides the chip, the tablet is shown to pack 12GB of RAM, Adreno 830 GPU, and Android 15 software.
- The tipster calls this tablet the OnePlus Pad 2 Pro and not Pad 3. In time, we will know which device it is.
OnePlus Pad 2 Pro renders and specifications (rumoured)
Over the weekend, tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS) shared the renders of the OnePlus Pad 2 Pro. The device looks different from the OnePlus Pad 2:
- This upcoming OnePlus Pad has a pill-shaped rear camera island that sits by the top left corner of the tablet. There seems to be a single camera there, along with a flashlight module. The predecessor has a round camera island that’s centrally placed.
- On the front, we can see its symmetrical but thick bezels. Although not clear in the image, there must be a video cam on one of the longer bezels.
- DCS has shared two colours of the device, viz., blue and silver.
- He also revealed OnePlus Pad 2 Pro specifications to be a 13.2-inch LCD with 3.4K resolution and 144Hz refresh rate, a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, 12,140mAh battery with 67W charging, and the following memory options: 8+256GB, 12+256GB, 12+512GB, and 16+512GB. The previously rumoured 1TB model is said to have been dropped.
What’s new on the OnePlus Pad 3
Compared to the OnePlus Pad 2, which sells in India for Rs 39,999 and boasts the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, the OnePlus Pad 3 could bring huge performance upgrades in the form of the Snapdragon 8 Elite, made on TSMC’s 3nm fabrication process. The battery could also see a bump up from 9,510mAh to 12,140mAh alongside a screen resolution upgrade.
We’ll keep you posted about the upcoming OnePlus tablet. The OnePlus Pad 2 Pro is said to launch with the OnePlus Ace 5 Supreme Edition in China this week. Keep reading!
