- A dedicated landing page on Flipkart is teasing the launch of the Pixel 9 Pro XL and Pixel 9 Pro Fold.
- The teaser suggests we won’t be getting the vanilla Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro in India.
- The Google India Store website, however, mentions the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro Fold.
Google Pixel 9 series India launch is set for August 14th, a day after their global debut. Flipkart has confirmed the availability of these smartphones but a new teaser suggests we might get only two phones — Pixel 9 Pro XL and Pixel 9 Pro Fold. This time Google is expected to launch a total of four phones, at least globally. But it looks like India will get only two out of the four models.
Google Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro not coming to India?
- Flipkart has a dedicated microsite for the Pixel 9 series. It’s been updated highlighting the upcoming phones but the teaser image reveals only the Pixel 9 Pro XL and Pixel 9 Pro Fold.
- This suggests that Google is not planning to bring the vanilla Pixel 9 and the mid-tier Pixel 9 Pro.
- It’s not an official confirmation but Flipkart is Google’s official online retailer so the speculation seems likely.
With less than two days to go for the Pixel 9 series India launch, we’ll soon know what Google has planned.
It’s worth mentioning that the Pixel 9 Pro Fold will be the first foldable to launch in India as the first one didn’t arrive here. Google has already revealed its design and we’ve also shared a bunch of information on the Pixel 9 Pro Fold’s display size, AI features, and other specs. The Pixel 9 Pro Fold’s price in India is one to keep an eye on as its rumoured US pricing is $1,799, which translates to roughly Rs 1,50,600.
