This ‘Pro Max’ smartphone could come with a 10,000mAh battery, but it’s not from Apple

Highlights

The “Pro Max” title usually brings Apple’s flagship iPhones to mind, though over the last year China has taken a lot of inspiration. The latest phone to adopt the name may be an OPPO mid-ranger instead. According to a new leak, the upcoming OPPO A7 Pro Max could pair a 10,000mAh battery with a surprisingly slim body, showing how quickly big batteries are becoming mainstream in Android smartphones without compromising on their thinness.

The details come from tipster Digital Chat Station, who claims the phone is currently in development. An earlier leak in June had also hinted that OPPO was preparing its first smartphone with a 10,000mAh battery.

OPPO A7 Pro Max expected key specifications

According to the leak (via), the OPPO A7 Pro Max will feature a 6.78-inch flat AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It’s also tipped to include an in-display fingerprint scanner. Powering the phone could be Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 chipset, paired with a 10,000mAh battery that supports 80W fast charging. Despite the enormous battery, the device is said to measure just 8.47 mm thick and weigh around 226 gms. For context, that’s slimmer than the iPhone 17 Pro, which is reported to be around 8.75 mm thick, although Apple’s flagship remains lighter, but also has a much smaller battery.
