OPPO A72 4G variant was launched back in April and it looks like the company is working on a 5G version of the same model. The handset was recently spotted on TENAA with the model number PDYM20. Now, the OPPO A72 5G specifications, price, and renders have surfaced on China telecom website, revealing almost everything we need to know about the device. The OPPO A72 5G has a gradient design, which looks unique, and will be powered by a 5G MediaTek chipset.

OPPO A72 5G design
The OPPO A72 5G has a punch-hole cutout at the top-left corner to accommodate the selfie camera. The volume rocker is on the left side along with the SIM card slot, while the power button is located on the right with a fingerprint sensor embedded. The USB Type-C port, 3.5mm audio jack and speaker grill are at the bottom. The top houses the secondary microphone for noise cancellation. The rear is where the triple cameras are present in a square module.
OPPO A72 5G specifications
OPPO A72 5G is said to sport a 6.5-inch display with 90Hz refresh rate, punch hole cutout. It will be powered by the MediaTek MT6853V 5G SoC. There is no word on the actual name of this processor, but it could be part of the Dimensity series. The phone will be available in three models: 4GB + 128GB, 6GB + 128GB and 8GB + 128GB storage that may be further expandable. It runs on Android 10 OS with ColorOS 7 custom skin on top. As for the optics, the OPPO A72 5G has triple cameras at the back with a 16MP primary sensor, an 8MP secondary sensor and a 2MP lens. For selfies, it is tipped to pack an 8MP unit on the front. While the China Telecom listing doesn’t reveal the battery capacity, TENAA listing says it will pack a 3,945mAh unit, whereas a reliable Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station says it will have a 4,040mAh capacity with 18W fast charging support.
As for the OPPO A72 5G price, the phone is said to cost RMB 1,699 (around Rs 18,300) for the 4GB + 128GB, RMB 1,799 (approx Rs 19,400) for the 6GB + 128GB and RMB 1,999 (around Rs 21,500) for the high-end model.
