The OPPO A78 sports a 6.5-inch HD+ LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate, and a waterdrop notch for the selfie snapper. The phone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset paired with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage that is further expandable via a microSD card. The phone runs on Android 13-based ColorOS custom skin out of the box.

The OPPO A78 has a large 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging support and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security. Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and a USB Type-C port for charging.

Moving to optics, the OPPO A78 5G features dual camera sensors on the back, with a 50MP primary camera and a 2MP wide-angle lens. There is an 8MP sensor on the front for selfies and video chats. The phone measures 7.9mm in thickness and weighs 188 grams.
