OPPO F9 Pro with VOOC fast charging and Essential Phone-like notch launching soon in India

Chinese phone maker OPPO will announce the F9 Pro shortly in the Indian market. The phone is expected to be a rebranded versions of the new R series phone called the R17 and R17 Pro, which is rumoured to launch in China soon. Today, the company teased the OPPO F9 Pro in India in a short video with the ‘coming soon’ tag and caption “Explore a brand new vision“. It will come as a successor of the OPPO F7 (review), flaunting a high screen-to-body ratio.

As per the teaser shared by OPPO, the F9 Pro could feature a taller display, a chin, and a small notch up top that might remind you of the Essential Phone. Moreover, showing the phone in water environs suggests that it’ll to be waterproof. Notably, OPPO has also teased the launch of the F9 smartphone in the Malaysian market. In a post on the brand’s social media page in Malaysia, the brand wrote, “Get ready to welcome the OPPO F9 with new waterdrop screen, a breaking new vision experience for you!” Unfortunately, there’s no exact launch date of either of the phones as of now.

The specifications of the OPPO F9 and F9 Pro are scarce at the moment. Apart from the tall display, the F9 Pro is rumoured to come with proprietary’s VOOC fast charging technology. The company claims that a five minute of charge can add up to two hours of juice to the phone. 

Separately, the OPPO R17 was leaked on TENAA last week. The listing showed the phone with dual cameras, 10GB of RAM, 6.3-inch display, and 3,415mAh battery. Moreover, there was no fingerprint sensor on the handset’s rear panel.
