OPPO has finally revealed the official launch date of its upcoming foldable, the OPPO Find N5. The company claims that it is going to be the worlds slimmest foldable smartphone yet. The OPPO Watch X2 is also set to launch alongside the OPPO Find N5 which was already confirmed earlier this month. Apart from the launch date, the brand has also revealed the design and colour options. Additionally, a leaked screenshot of the ‘About Phone’ section of the OPPO Find N5 has revealed some key hardware specifications too.
OPPO Find N5 launch date
- The global launch event of the OPPO Find N5 will be held in Singapore. The event will begin at 7 PM (SST) on February 20, 2025. This translate to 4:30 PM IST for Indian readers.
- Teaser videos have also revealed the colour options of the OPPO Find N5. The device will be available in Jade White and Satin Black colour options with a glass back and a Twilight Purple variant with a leather back. Do note that the global teaser on OPPO’s official channel doesn’t display the Twilight Purple variant.
- Pete Lau, the Chief Product Officer of OPPO, has posted on X (formerly Twitter), a comparison of the OPPO Find N5’s crease which is virtually non-existent as compared to another foldable beside it.
- Another post by Pete Lau sheds light on the water resistance of the device as it is said to feature IPX6, IPX8 and IPX9 rating for better durability against water.
- The company has also disclosed that the OPPO Find N5 is going to be the first foldable smartphone to feature a 3D printed titanium alloy hinge for improved durability.
OPPO Find N5 specifications
The About Phone page of the OPPO Find N5 was recently leaked (via) and it reveals some key specifications of the device.
- Display: The OPPO Find N5 will feature a 8.12-inch inner foldable display. There’s no information about the cover screen yet.
- Processor: It will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC. However, this is going to be the first smartphone to feature a 7-core version of this chipset.
- Storage: The device will feature 16GB RAM along with 12GB of virtually expandable RAM and 512GB of internal storage.
- Battery: The OPPO Find N5 will house a 5,600mAh battery which is much larger than its predecessors (OPPO Find N3) 4,805mAh battery.
- Charging: According to the leaked screenshot, the device will support 80W wired fast charging and 50W wireless fast charging speeds.
- Software: It will run on ColorOS 15 based on Android 15 to offer the latest software experience.
- Cameras: The camera specifications haven’t been revealed officially, but based on leaks, the cameras have been downgraded. Earlier, we expected the device to feature a triple 50MP rear camera setup. However, the OPPO Find N5 is expected to feature a 50MP primary camera, an 8MP secondary camera and another 50MP camera which is most likely going to be a 3x telephoto periscope lens.
The OPPO Find N5 is expected to launch as the OnePlus Open 2 in global markets. This speculation is based on the past where the OPPO Find N3 was rebranded as the OnePlus Open for global markets. To recall, the OnePlus Open launched for Rs 1,39,999 in India back in 2023. We can expect the OnePlus Open 2 to launch in the same or slightly higher price segment.
