“The OPPO Find X2 launch is right around the corner, and a new rumour suggests the smartphone could feature the 48MP IMX708 or IMX689 sensor by Sony”
OPOO is soon going to launch the Find X2 smartphone. The company’s VP, Brian Shen, has already started talking about the specifications and features of the OPPO Find X2. That said, we can certainly not take anything away from the realm of leaks, and the rumors mill has to do its job even though the company itself has been pretty vocal about the device lately. The recent development comes in the form of a new leak by the reputed Chinese leakster Digital Chat Station. As per the leakster, a couple of new Sony sensors (Sony IMX708 and Sony IMX689) are likely going to make their debut soon, and if the rumors are anything to go by, the OPPO Find X2 might very well be utilising one of the sensors.
OPPO Find X2 could have a 48MP primary camera
The leakster has revealed a bunch of specifications of the new Sony sensors. The CMOS sensor, as per him, is going to be utilised by companies like Huawei, OPPO, OnePlus, and more. The sensor size is larger than the 1/1.7″ IMX686, so it should be about 1/1.3″. Amongst those, OPPO appears to be taking the lead as Brian has also hinted at a new sensor being used in the OPPO Find X2. That said, there is no official confirmation on the same, so we might as well take this with a pinch of salt for now.
Other than the cameras, the tipster has also leaked some other key OPPO Find X2 specifications in the past. For instance, the smartphone is tipped to sport a 6.5-inch display with a 3,168 x 1,440 pixels resolution. The display will be AMOLED (most likely a Samsung panel) and will be curved around the edges. There will be a single punch-hole display coming up with the device as per the tipster. That said, it is unclear as to where the punch-hole will be positioned. As far as the processing is concerned, the OPPO Find X2 is tipped to be powered with the Snapdragon 865 processor which will be coupled with an LPDDR5 RAM and a UFS 3.0 storage. A little while ago, 91mobiles spotted a new patent filed by OPPO, which could reveal the design of the Find X2.
As of now, the details surrounding the device are pretty scarce, but we are sure to receive more intel on the same in the coming days.
