[Exclusive]: OPPO K1 with under-display fingerprint sensor to launch in India in February first week

Just yesterday, Flipkart teased the launch of a new smartphone from OPPO in India. The e-commerce portal hasn’t yet revealed the name of the device to be unveiled, as well as when the phone will be landing in the country. However, 91mobiles has learned that the brand will be launching the OPPO K1 handset in India as well as the timeline for the launch.

A source familiar with the OPPO’s plans has informed us OPPO K1 will be launched in India in the first week of February. The phone was originally released in China in October last year as one of the most affordable smartphones with an in-display fingerprint sensor. While we don’t have the exact price of the OPPO K1 for India, we’ve been informed that the device will be released under Rs 20,000 in the country.

To recap on the specifications, the OPPO K1 flaunts a nearly bezel-less display with a waterdrop-like notch above the screen. The phone gets a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,340 pixels. Under the hood, the handset sports a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 AI processor, and software-wise, the device boots ColorOS 5.2 based on Android 8.1 Oreo.

For imaging, the OPPO K1 offers a dual 16-megapixel + 2-megapixel camera setup at the rear, and a 25-megapixel selfie shooter. As for the other features, the smartphone comes in two RAM and storage configurations – 4GB + 64GB and 6GB + 128GB. In terms of connectivity, the phone offers dual-SIM slots, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, and A-GPS. A 3,600mAh battery completes the list of the specifications.
