OPPO K1 could be the most affordable phone with in-display fingerprint sensor; will cost below Rs 20,000

Chinese tech giant OPPO is all set to release its latest smartphone called the OPPO K1 at an event in China tomorrow. The phone is expected to arrive as a mid-range offering with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor. Ahead of the unveiling, we’ve already seen an alleged live image of the handset. Now, the company has announced that the OPPO K1 will be priced between Yuan 1,000 and Yuan 2,000.


At this pricing, the OPPO K1 will be one of the most affordable smartphones with an under-display fingerprint sensor. The brand has already revealed that its upcoming handset will feature a waterdrop notch above the screen. The smartphone will feature a nearly bezel-less display. The device is expected to offer highly-narrow bezels on the top and two sides, and a slim chin. The company hasn’t yet revealed any other specifications of the OPPO K1.

According to the reports, the OPPO K1 will offer a 6.4-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2,340 x 1,080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. The smartphone is said to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor, aided by Adreno 512 graphics. The handset could come in two RAM and storage configurations – 4GB + 64GB and 6GB + 128GB. At the rear, the device is tipped to offer a dual 16-megapixel + 2-megapixel camera setup. On the front, the phone is rumoured to offer a 25-megapixel selfie shooter. A 3,500mAh battery is expected to complete the list of the specs.
