According to the brand, graphite batteries are superior to silicone anodes and lithium-ion batteries. OPPO says the new technology is ‘engineered for longevity, promising an impressive five-year lifespan.’ While only time will tell if the OPPO K13’s battery will last its lifespan, we tested its longevity and compared the results against the Realme P3 (review), which packs a 6,000mAh battery. Here’s what we found.

The OPPO K13’s bigger 7,000mAh battery, with graphite technology, makes it a clear winner in the battery department. Not only does it ace the synthetic benchmark, video test, and gaming test, but it also charges faster than the Realme P3. The Realme offering offers a commendable battery performance too. That said, it loses out to the more advanced battery tech used in the OPPO device.

The PCMark Battery test app is a handy tool for determining a smartphone’s expected battery life. It simulates the device’s most common daily tasks until the battery level drops below 20 percent to analyse its overall battery performance.
The OPPO K13’s bigger 7,000mAh battery showed its might in the PCMark Battery test. The device lasted a whopping 17 hours in our testing, whereas the Realme P3 lasted only 12 hours and 44 minutes, which is around 5 hours less.
Real-world context: The OPPO K13 sets a new benchmark for battery efficiency in this price segment. With regular usage, the smartphone can last two whole days on a full charge, whereas heavy usage will require plugging in the device at the end of the day. On the other hand, Realme P3 offers a day’s worth of normal usage on a full charge.

30-minute YouTube streaming test to check battery drain (lower is better)
According to statistics, users spend 180 minutes daily on streaming platforms, which requires a significant chunk of battery backup. Today, a smartphone must have a solid streaming battery life. To determine which of these two smartphones has better streaming battery backup, we set the brightness and volume to 50 percent and played a full HD YouTube video on a loop for 30 minutes on them.
The OPPO K13’s battery lasted only 1 percent after a 30-minute YouTube streaming session. The Realme P3 lost 3 percent, which is higher in comparison but impressive for the segment.
Real-world context: Users who love watching their favourite shows and movies on their smartphones should consider the OPPO K13. The Realme P3 also offers solid streaming battery performance, but it will drain comparatively earlier than the OPPO K13.

Gaming test
Assessing battery drain after 90 minutes of gaming (lower is better)
Our gaming test includes playing BGMI, COD: Mobile, and Real Racing 3 for 30 minutes each on every device with identical graphic settings. At the end of the 90-minute gaming session, we noted the battery drop and totalled them to find the battery drop during the entire gaming session.
The OPPO K13 emerges as the winner here as well since it lost only 11 percent of battery after one and a half hours of intense gaming. The Realme P3, on the other hand, lose 19 percent of battery, which is again on the higher side.
Real-world context: The OPPO K13 is a better choice for gamers as it will last much longer, even when playing intense gaming titles like BGMI. The Realme P3 delivers the similar gaming performance as the OPPO K13, but will run out of fuel much sooner.

Our standard charging test involves draining both smartphones to a 20 percent battery level and then charging them fully. The OPPO K13 supports 80W fast charging, whereas the Realme P3 supports 45W fast charging tech. Both smartphones come with a compatible charger in the box.

The device offers one of the best-in-class video streaming and gaming battery performance with impressive charging speeds.
