OPPO is all set to refresh its K series with the launch of the OPPO K3 on May 23rd in China. The handset has been doing the rounds on the internet for quite some time. And now, ahead of its launch, hands-on images of the K3 has been leaked, which are in line with previous leaks and rumours. Separately, the company has revealed the details of the phone’s chipset, and charging capabilities via its official account on Weibo.
Starting with its design, the leaked hands-on pictures reveal that the OPPO K3 will have an all-display fascia and a back panel that looks reminiscent to the OPPO Reno series. Unlike its predecessor, the OPPO K1 (review), its successor will have a pop-up selfie camera at the center of the top edge. Apart from this, there seems to be an OLED panel at the fascia with an Always-on feature, while the rear gets an attractive Blue-Violet paint job.
As for the specifications, OPPO has confirmed that the K3 will have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC ticking at its core. The chipset will be paired with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage onboard. The handset will have an in-display fingerprint scanner and VOOC 3.0 tech for providing quick charge functionality. Apart from this, as per rumours, the OPPO K3 may come with a 6.5-inch AMOLED display bearing Full HD+ resolution, 3,765mAh, 16-megapixel + 2-megapixel cameras on the back, a 16MP selfie shooter, and ColorOS 6.0 based on Android 9 Pie. The phone is said to come in Nebula Purple, Morning White, and Secret Black hues.
As for the price, OPPO K3 is expected to start from RMB 1,799 (~Rs 18,500) and go up to RMB 1,899 (~Rs 19,500) for the high-end 8GB RAM variant.
