“OPPO K5 mid-range phone is expected to come with Snapdragon 730G SoC, 8GB RAM and run on Android 9.0 Pie”
At the VOOC 4.0 announcement, OPPO confirmed that the upcoming K5 smartphone would be the first one to feature the latest fast-charging technology. While OPPO didn’t divulge into details about the handset, the complete specifications sheet and the handset’s images have now surfaced on the Internet, courtesy of a Weibo user and alleged TENAA listing. According to the listing, the OPPO K5 sports a 6.4-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display with 2,340 x 1,080 pixels resolution and said to be powered by the Snapdragon 730G gaming SoC. OPPO K5 with model number PCNM00 measures 158.7 x 75.2 x 8.6mm, and it weighs 182 grams. It has a gradient finish with a vertically arranged quad-camera setup.
Furthermore, the OPPO K5 packs 8GB RAM and 128GB onboard storage that should be expandable via microSD card slot. There is an in-display fingerprint sensor for security and runs on Android 9.0 Pie with ColorOS custom skin on top. It has a waterdrop notch on the front to accommodate the 32MP selfie snapper. As for the rear optics, the OPPO K5 packs a quad-camera setup consisting of a 64MP primary sensor, an 8MP secondary ultra-wide-angle lens, a 2MP depth unit and another 2MP macro lens. The camera system seems to be similar to the recently launched Realme XT smartphone.
OPPO K5 is likely to be fueled by a 4,000mAh battery with support for 30W VOOC fast charging technology through USB Type-C port. Unfortunately, there’s no launch date yet, but since the handset already bagged TENAA certification, the China launch could be right the corner, and we should know more details soon.
