“OPPO ColorOS 6 custom software could be announced on the fifth anniversary event the company is hosting in China”
OPPO may unveil the next version of its ColorOS custom software next week. The company had previously said that it will announcing new details about the ColorOS on November 22nd, which is the fifth anniversary of the software. The current version of the software is ColorOS 5.2.1 and powers smartphones by OPPO as well as the new brand Realme.
First spotted by technology website GizmoChina, a Weibo post by OPPO executive Chris Chen Xi says he will be sharing some information by ColorOS 6 on November 22nd at 12pm. The post was shared by the official ColorOS Weibo account. It can be expected that ColorOS 6 version will be based on the latest Android Pie software.
Previously, the brand had said it will be announcing some new updates to the custom software at the event in China. A teaser had said that smooth and stable gaming should not be a feature limited to the flagship device. This had given rise to speculation that it might bring the Hyper Boost Technology to more affordable smartphones. This technology can improve the performance and power consumption of smartphones for a better user experience and is a software-side implementation.
But this new teaser about ColorOS 6 suggests there is much more in the works for the company. Android Pie has brought gesture-based navigation, better battery life, and several other major changes like Digital Wellbeing to smartphones. It remains to be seen which of the features will be incorporated on the OPPO custom software, but we have to wait just one day to find out.
