“The OPPO R15X smartphone is speculated to be another mid-range offering with water drop notch”
Chinese phonemaker, OPPO might be gearing up to launch another smartphone with Snapdragon 660 chipset. The vendor, last week, announced the OPPO K1 handset, which comes with the said chipset and a waterdrop style notch. Now, a new device – allegedly dubbed as the OPPO R15X – has made its way to Geekbench with model number OPPO PBCM10. Notably, the handset has also been spotted on TENAA and 3C certification’s site with the same model number.
As per the Geekbench listing, the handset will feature Qualcomm’s octa-core Snapdragon 660 SoC with 1.84GHz base frequency and 6 gigs of RAM. The phone is said to come pre-loaded with Android 8.1 Oreo, which will be customised using OPPO’s ColorOS skin. On the benchmark site, the OPPO R15X managed to nail 1,439 in the single-core score and notch up a 5,516 multi-core score.
Unfortunately, the listing hasn’t revealed the complete specs of the smartphone. However, previous reports suggest that the OPPO R15X could feature 6.4-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,340 pixels. Interestingly, the screen resolution is the same as the OPPO F9 Pro’s, which indicates that the handset will also feature the new-style notch atop the panel. In the camera department, the phone is expected to get a dual 16MP+2MP sensors with LED flash on the rear and 25MP shooter on the front. A 3,500mAh is expected to round up the specs sheet of the device.
OPPO is yet to announce a release date for the R15X, but it seems like the launch could happen shortly. We’ll keep you posted on the smartphone in the near future, so keep watching the space.
