Chinese phonemaker OPPO has slashed the price of its mid-range OPPO R17 Pro (review) smartphone in India. The handset will now retail at Rs 39,990, a significant cut of Rs 6,000 from its launch price of Rs 45,990 in the country. The OPPO R17 Pro was launched in December last year and, other than Nokia 8.1 (review), is the only Qualcomm Snapdragon 710-powered device in India. The phone also boasts of a triple-rear camera module, Super VOOC fast charging support, and AMOLED screen with an in-display fingerprint sensor and waterdrop-style notch up top.
The OPPO R17 Pro is available on sale via both offline and online stores across the country. Interested buyers can purchase the device in Radiant Mist and Emerald Green colour options.

To recall, the OPPO R17 Pro comes with a 6.4-inch AMOLED display with full HD+ resolution, waterdrop notch, a screen-to-body ratio of 91.5 percent, and Corning Gorilla Glass 6 layer. Qualcomm’s 1.8GHz octa-core Snapdragon 710 SoC is paired with Adreno 616 GPU and 8GB of RAM. On the storage front, the phone offers 128GB of storage, which is non-expandable.
In the camera department, the triple camera system at the back sports a 12-megapixel primary sensor (f/1.5-2.4) paired with a 20-megapixel secondary shooter and a 3D ToF lens paired with LED flash. The OPPO R17 Pro’s front camera boasts of an impressive 25-megapixel sensor with AI Beautify mode and f/2.0 aperture.
The phone boots Android 8.1 Oreo-based ColorOS 5.2 skin out of the box and houses dual batteries with a total capacity of 3,700mAh cell. The phone also benefits from OPPO’s Super VOOC fast charging support that is said to add 40 percent juice in just 10 minutes. Connectivity options include dual-SIM, 4G VoLTE, WiFi, Bluetooth, and GPS/ GLONASS, minus the 3.5mm headphone jack.
