“Realme is a new online-exclusive sub-brand of OPPO”
OPPO recently introduced a new sub-brand in India called Realme. The debut handset from the new brand is called Realme 1 and it’s slated to launch on May 15th in India. 91mobiles recently uncovered the first live photo of the smartphone along with the processor and RAM capacity. Now, the smartphone has also popped up on the benchmarking website, Geekbench ahead of the official launch.
The Geekbench listing reveals the model number – CPH1859, which we have already seen in the AnTuTu listing of the smartphone. In the benchmark, the handset’s processor is ARM MT6771V/W, which refers to the MediaTek Helio P60 chipset and corroborates with the previous report. The smartphone is seen with 6GB RAM in the listing and runs the Android 8.1 Oreo operating system. In the benchmarking test, it scored 1,502 in single-core test and 5,778 in multi-core test. The listing mentions no further details about the upcoming smartphone.
The brand has already teased that the Realme 1 will come sporting a Diamond Black finish, which we have already seen on OPPO A3, launched in China recently. The upcoming smartphone is also tipped to offer AI integration in the selfie camera. Further, it is being speculated that it will offer an AI battery management feature for enhanced battery life.
OPPO has had a great run in Indian handset market with its extensive offline presence, and it’s now aiming to take a slice of the online smartphone segment with the new brand. We will have more accurate details about the smartphone on May 15th when it goes official, so stay tuned.
