OPPO Reno 14 series roundup: India launch date, specifications, expected price, and more

The OPPO Reno 14 series will launch in India tomorrow (July 3rd). Although not officially confirmed, the smartphone series will most likely include two models: OPPO Reno 14 and Reno 14 Pro. These are OPPO’s premium mid-range offerings with a focus on their design, cameras, and features.

The OPPO Reno 14 and 14 Pro are already available in China so we have an idea about what to expect from the upcoming phones. OPPO has also been revealing key details about the Reno 14 series through its dedicated Flipkart microsite. Taking everything into account, here’s a detaied look at what to expect from the OPPO Reno 14 series.

The OPPO Reno 14 Pro will be the more expensive model in the series. If we take into consideration the Reno 13 Pro’s price then the 14 Pro could also start around Rs 49,999 in India. It’s confirmed to feature the MediaTek Dimensity 8450 chipset paired with the Mali-G720 GPU. OPPO Reno 14 Pro will be the first phone in India to launch with this chipset. The SoC is claimed to be 30 percent faster and power-efficient than the competition. But how it performs in real-world usage and benchmark tests is something we’ll get to know in our detailed review. 

Meanwhile, the OPPO Reno 14 Chinese model is equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 chipset.

The OPPO Reno 14 Pro is also confirmed to featujred a 6.83-inch 1.5K OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, and 1,200 nits peak brightness. The vanilla Reno 14 has a slightly smaller 6.59-inch display. The OPPO Reno 14 series will also feature 3,840Hz PWM Dimming, low-blue light filtering, and HDR10+ support for Netflix and Amazon Prime HD playback. 

When it comes to design, OPPO aims to offer a premium and stylish look with durability. The Reno 14 series features what OPPO calls a first-of-its-kind iridescent glow finish. The Reno 14 and Reno 14 Pro in Pearl White also feature OPPO Velvet Glass with a one-piece sculpted glass back. The Titanium Grey variant has a matte finish. The Reno 14 comes in a Forest Green variant, which has a luminous loop deco that mimics lighting around the rear camera. 

Coming to durability, the Reno 14 series is equipped with Sponge Armor Body, a shock-absorbing internal stucture coupled with an aerospace-grade aluminium alloy frame. You also get IP66/IP68/IP69 dust and water protection, the highest ratings available for smartphones. 

OPPO has also revealed the Reno 14 Pro’s camera setup. It’s a 50MP camera on the front, and three 50MP cameras on the back. You get a primary sensor, a telephoto lens with 3.5x optical zoom and up to 120x digital zoom, and an ultra-wide camera for landscape shots. The smartphone is also baked with AI features for editing your photos, low-light photography, and other features. There’s underwater photography too on the Reno 14 Pro. 

There’s quite a lot to look forward to with the OPPO Reno 14 series. Both phones will also face stiff competition from existing phones in the mid-range segment like the POCO F7, Vivo T4 Ultra, and OnePlus 13R. We’ll get a better idea of how the Reno 14 and Reno 14 Pro fare in real-word experiences once we review the devices.
