OPPO Reno 14 series 5G India launch officially confirmed, colour options revealed

OPPO has officially revealed that the Reno 14 series is coming to India soon. The lineup could include the OPPO Reno 14 5G and the OPPO Reno 14 Pro 5G. These will be midrange successors to the OPPO Reno 13 series. The teaser posts show one of the phones in green and white colours. The device looks identical to the global models that have been teased for other markets, even those two colours. And since the phones are already available in China, though in different colours, we have a fair idea of the expected specs and features.

OPPO Reno 14 series 5G India launch, design teasers

The first teaser just says, the OPPO Reno 14 series 5G is “coming soon“. It is rumoured to launch in the first week of July.
The phones will be available via Flipkart, Amazon, OPPO Store and shops near you.
The highlight is the “Forest Green” colour in both teasers. The latter one is a 20-second video that emphasises the green variant and design elements like aerospace aluminium grade frame, flat sides, rounded corners, a USB-C port, an infrared port, and a one-piece sculpted glass back. At the end of the video, you can see the Pearl White model too. OPPO calls this particular one “iridescent glow finish”.
Besides these, there seems to be a Titanium Grey variant too.
The Pearl White and Forest Green Reno 14 models are just 7.42mm thick. Meanwhile, the Reno14 Pro is 7.58mm thick in the Pearl White model and 7.48mm thick in the Titanium Grey variant.

We also get a look at the squircle rear camera panel with three camera lenses, a flashlight module and AI camera branding. The global Reno 14 landing page teases AI Flash Photography and AI Editor 2.0. The Indian model may also get these.
The new handsets will be ingress rated up to IP66 + IP68 + IP69, which means they are tested to withstand up to 1.5m freshwater immersion for up to 30 minutes, and high-pressure, high-temperature water blasts. You can also enjoy underwater photography mode with 4K video quality support.
The Reno 14 Pro features a 6.83-inch OLED display with a 1.5K resolution and a 93.6 percent screen-to-body ratio. The Reno 14 comes with a smaller 6.59-inch display and a 93.4 percent screen-to-body ratio. Both support a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, 1200 nits peak brightness, glove touch, 3840Hz PWM dimming, low blue light filtering, and HDR10+ playback. They are certified for HD streaming on Netflix and Amazon Prime Video.

OPPO Reno 14 series: what else to expect

Based on the Chinese Reno 14 series, here’s what you can expect:

Display: The Reno 14 could sport a 6.59-inch screen with a FHD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate and an OPPO Crystal Shield Glass layer. Meanwhile, the Reno 14 Pro could bring a taller 6.83-inch screen with FHD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and 1,200nits peak brightness.
Processor: The Reno 14 5G could be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8350 SoC with a 3.35GHz clock speed. This is the same chip that’s found in the Reno 13 5G. The Reno 14 Pro, on the other hand, could rely on a newer Dimensity 8450 SoC with up to 3.25 GHz frequency, improved instruction set and upgraded NPU for AI tasks.
Cameras: On the back, the Reno 14 could pack a 50MP primary camera (OIS), a 50MP 3.5x telephoto lens, and an 8MP ultrawide shooter. On the front, the standard model could flaunt a 50MP selfie camera. The Reno 14 Pro, on the other hand, has the same primary and telephoto lenses but gets a bigger 50MP ultrawide snapper, too. The selfie shooter could also be the same.
Battery: You may get a 6,000mAh battery with 80W fast charging on the Reno 14, and the Pro could bear an even bigger 6,200mAh cell. These are bigger than the cells inside their predecessors.
Memory: OPPO may offer both models with up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB UFS 3.1 storage.

Should you wait for the Reno 14 series

If you’re looking for a well-specced midrange phone with improvements in camera and battery over the Reno 13 series (as mentioned above), the Reno 14 series might be worth waiting for. The Forest Green colour also looks appealing.
