“OPPO smartphone with model number PCPM00 could be the Reno 3, and the TENAA listing reveals its design and key specifications”
An OPPO smartphone with model number PCPM00 has appeared on TENAA, and it could be the OPPO Reno 3. We know that OPPO will launch the Reno 3 series soon, and the company has already started teasing details about the Reno 3 Pro, revealing it will be the slimmest dual-mode 5G phone in its price segment with a thickness of 7.7mm, and that it will pack a 4,025mAh battery. At the Snapdragon Summit this week, OPPO also confirmed the Reno 3 Pro will be powered by the new Snapdragon 765 SoC. Now, some key specifications and images of the vanilla Reno 3 have appeared on TENAA, revealing a waterdrop notch display and vertical quad camera setup.
OPPO Reno 3 TENAA image
It is speculated that the OPPO phone with model number PCPM00 is the Reno 3, but the images suggest a very non-Reno design. To recall, Reno phones launched so far like the Reno 10x Zoom, Reno 2 and Reno 2Z have all offered a pop-up selfie camera, some with a unique shark-fin design even. However, if the images on TENAA are of the Reno 3, it suggests OPPO will be ditching the pop-up camera design for a more traditional waterdrop display.
The rear panel also shows a very non-Reno look. We see a curved glossy panel with a vertical camera setup module bump on the top left corner. To recall, past Reno phones have all offered vertical camera systems on the center of the rear panel that sit underneath the glass.
The TENAA listing could be for a whole new OPPO smartphone rather than the Reno 3. It seems unlikely that the Reno 3 will look so radically different from the Reno 3 Pro, which is confirmed to offer a notchless display.
OPPO Reno 3 specifications
OPPO Reno 3 specifications as mentioned on the TENAA site suggests a handset that measures 160.2×73.3×7.9mm, which would make it slightly thicker than the Reno 3 Pro model. The Reno 3 will weigh 172 grams and offer a 6.4-inch FHD+ (2400X1080) AMOLED display. The handset its also listed with a 3,935mAh battery.
OPPO Reno 3 will feature a 2.1GHz Octa-core processor paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, according to the listing. It will also ship with Android 9 and feature a total of 5 camera (four on the back and a selfie camera up front). We should get a better idea about the Reno 3 from the company’s VP Brian Shen, who is expected to reveal more details in the days to come.
