“OPPO will launch the OPPO Reno and Reno Lite in an event in China on April 10th”
OPPO is all set to launch its new sub-brand Reno at an event in China on April 10th. The rumour mill has been running overtime around the new devices and there are speculations that as many as five phones could be launched at the event. There will be a Lite variant and a standard model with periscope-style telephoto lens. Recently, the phonemaker posted camera samples from the top variant to illustrate the camera prowess of the top variant. And now the same model has been spotted in marketing banners in China.
The latest leak comes from Weibo, where a user has posted an image of what looks like the marketing material hung from the ceiling of a retail store. The banners are seen showing off the fog green variant of the smartphone. More importantly, you can see the squarish telescope-style camera module below the other sensors. It’s rumoured that the smartphone will offer up to 5x optical and 10x hybrid zoom. The other two cameras are expected to be a primary 48MP f/1.8 lens and a 20MP f/2.6 ultra-wide sensor. The Lite variant will give the periscope lens a miss according to the speculations.
As for the other specifications of the OPPO Reno, the smartphone is expected to come with a 6.65-inch full-HD+ display with a screen-to-body ratio of 93.1 percent. The handset will be powered by the flagship Snapdragon 855 SoC accompanied by 6GB RAM. There are rumours that the company is also working on a premium edition with 12GB of RAM, which will allegedly be called Lamborghini Edition. Unfortunately, not much is known about that variant as of now.
We will certainly get to know more on April 10th, when the smartphone goes official so stay tuned to 91mobiles.
