A stylish looking mid-range smartphone, the OPPO Reno3 Pro has been released in India for a starting price of Rs 29,990. At this price point, the device is certainly a compelling proposition, and will turn heads wherever it goes. Other than the impressive style and display, the Reno3 Pro comes with the world’s first 44-megapixel dual punch-hole front camera, a 64MP quad-rear camera setup and a powerful MediaTek Helio P95 processor. These features make the smartphone seemingly a great choice under Rs 30,000. But these specs alone don’t tell the full story. Let’s take a closer look at the design, specs and features offered by the OPPO Reno3 Pro. Based on what it brings to the table, here’s what we have to say about it.

Eye-catching design and colours

Let’s start with the front of the phone, which houses a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED display. With no notch and thin bezels around the display, the phone offers a screen-to-body ratio of 91.5 percent, which makes the phone look great, as its front is practically all-screen. Of course, there’s room for the world’s first 44MP dual front cameras in the innovative punch-hole display. Moreover, the smartphone features rounded edges not just on the front but on the back as well, making sure the device feels great to hold in the hand and maintains a perfect grip. The 3D curved body is a favourite of design purists. Making everything even better is the lightweight 175 grams body with thickness of just 8.1mm, making the Reno3 Pro sleek and stylish.

Now, moving on the back of the phone, OPPO has used polycarbonate on the smartphone, with gradient finish that makes it stand apart from the competition. To maintain a premium look on the back as well as the front, OPPO has kept the rear panel clean and devoid of gimmicky elements. Taking centrestage, of course, are the gradient colours.

OPPO will sell the Reno3 Pro in three colour variants, which are inspired by the shades of the sky. There’s the Aurora Blue option, which is inspired by the night skies of northern Europe. When light falls on the back panel, it shifts colours between blue, purple, and green. Then there’s the Midnight Black colour that is based on the deep black sky. It doesn’t feature any gradient finish but is great to look at. Finally, the Sky White option that depicts the morning sky and shows off slight purple colours when light reflects off it. In our opinion, it will be near-impossible to find a more beautiful looking smartphone under Rs 30,000 in the Indian market today, and this is a strong point in favour of the smartphone when it’s compared against rivals.

The display of OPPO Reno3 Pro also seems quite capable. It features brightness of 800 nits but can hit the peak of 1200 nits when required. It is also certified by TUV Rheinland, which means that the screen will also be easy on the user’s eyes. OPPO has included a Hidden Fingerprint Unlock 3.0 that delivers hardware-based fraud prevention with higher fingerprint recognition rate, assuring a secure unlocking within 334ms when the screen is on, and within 358ms when the screen is off. All of these features are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 with smooth curved edges.

Promise of excellent cameras and great performance

The OPPO Reno3 Pro is a mid-range smartphone and offers decent hardware that’s more than enough to power you through the day. The most interesting aspect of the phone is the dual punch-hole camera setup. It includes a 44-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel depth unit.
This is the first phone to feature such a high-resolution sensor – in fact, it’s the highest resolution selfie camera you can get on a smartphone. There’s a quad-camera setup on the back with a primary 64-megapixel sensor, a 13-megapixel telephoto unit with 20x digital zoom, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, and a 2-megapixel monochrome unit. The concoction of 64MP+13MP+8MP works in perfect harmony to create 2x optical zoom, 5x hybrid optical zoom, and up to 20x digital zoom.

The front camera is equipped with Ultra Night Selfie Mode that promises to shoot crystal clear selfies at night. Moreover, an Ultra Dark Mode is offered on the rear camera that allows the users to catch the beauty in the dark that even human eyes cannot see. The device should not disappoint you even in case of videos. It features Ultra Steady Video 2.0 that empowers you to record any moment in steady and clear videos. Again, camera capabilities have always been OPPO’s strong suit, so this is where the Reno3 Pro should be able to stand up and offer stiff competition to rivals.

Additionally, the handset is powered by MediaTek Helio P95 chipset and runs Android 10 OS out of the box. Of course, the phone features the ColorOS 7.0 skin on top with new UI elements and design. The phone packs a 4,025mAh battery that supports 30W VOOC 4.0 fast-charging technology.

As a mid-range smartphone, especially at the price point, OPPO Reno3 Pro seems to have done a great job with the design and feel of the phone. It screams elegance all throughout, especially from the back. There aren’t many smartphones available in this segment that offer such a good mix of design, performance, dual-selfie cameras, and quad-rear cameras. If you ask us, for less than Rs 30,000, the OPPO Reno3 Pro is worth for anyone wanting to own a good-looking with a capable piece of hardware.

The device is available in 8+128GB variant at a price of INR 29,990 and 8+256GB variant at a price of INR 32,990. You can purchase the 8+128GB variant from online platforms like Amazon and Flipkart as well as offline platforms like OPPO stores and retail outlets. Customers purchasing Reno3 Pro offline get complete damage protection and 1,000 lucky customers will also get a chance to lay their hands on Enco Free true wireless headphones.
