“OPPO smartwatch will offer an Apple Watch-like square display and curved screen”
Back in January, OPPO’s VP, Brian Shen had teased the company’s first smartwatch on Weibo. It showed off the device in gold colour and a curved design. There are two buttons on the right side along with a microphone hole, presumably to take calls. Now, the executive has shared another teaser image that shows off the smartwatch in a new black colour finish. The image, which only partially reveals the smartwatch, yet again shows off a curved screen. The smartwatch will likely have an AMOLED display, courtesy of the punchy colours on the watch face. We also see a black-coloured leather strap, there could be a silicone strap variant as well.
Here’s another look at the forthcoming OPPO Watch. 👀 The curved screen and 3D glass will be a game changer. 🤓 pic.twitter.com/ozbl9BXNZq— Brian Shen (@BrianShenYiRen) February 17, 2020
The OPPO smartwatch is expected to go official sometime in Q1 2020 and since MWC event is cancelled, the launch could be delayed to a later date. Sadly, not much else is known about the OPPO smartwatch at the moment, but one thing’s for sure, the design is heavily inspired by the Apple Watch Series. You can expect Shen to reveal more details about the OPPO smartwatch.
Separately, OPPO Reno 3 Pro is scheduled to launch in India on March 2nd. It is expected to launch with a MediaTek Helio P95 SoC, 44MP dual selfie snapper, and a 64MP quad-camera setup at the back. The Reno 3 Pro wil be equipped with 8GB RAM, 128GB internal storage that should be expandable and a 30W VOOC Flash Charge 4.0 fast-charging support. It could sport a 6.5-inch full-HD+ OLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate and HDR10+, and boot Android 10 OS with ColorOS 7.0 custom skin on top.
