“The OPPO smartwatch has a square dial, gold casing, two buttons on the right side, and a silicone strap”
OPPO at the INNO Day 2019 in December had confirmed it will launch a smartwatch, smart wireless headphones, a 5G hub, and more in Q1 2020. Now, it seems the brand is gearing up to introduce the smartwatch as the brand’s VP Brian Shen has now shared the first teaser image of the product on Weibo. The post shows the smartwatch will have curved design thanks to its flexible screen and sport a gold casing. There are two buttons on the right side, presumably for navigation. One of the buttons seems to have a notification light. There’s also a microphone hole between the buttons. This means the OPPO smartwatch will likely have eSIM support and should be able to take calls. The square design looks heavily inspired by the Apple Watch.
The OPPO smartwatch has a silicone strap, but there could be leather straps as well. The watch will be introduced in Q1 2020, possibly alongside the OPPO Find X2 or maybe at the upcoming MWC 2020 in late February. Unfortunately, not much is known about its features and hardware specifications, but we can hope OPPO will tease more details going forward.
Separately, OPPO will soon launch OPPO Kash financial service in India. The platform is currently in beta testing and is likely to debut in the first half of the year. Much like other financial services, OPPO Kash will offer microloans with flexible repayment schemes. It will be available for iOS and Android but will be pre-loaded on all upcoming OPPO smartphones. It will have UPI integration as well as an option to buy smartphones on EMIs. OPPO has already set up a customer service team for the OPPO Kash financial service.
