OPPO smartwatch live image shows curved edges and Apple Watch-like design

“The live image gives us our first complete look at the OPPO smartwatch, from the curved display to the black silicone watch strap”

OPPO is gearing up to launch its first-ever smartwatch, likely alongside the Find X2 in China. The company’s VP, Brian Shen, has already been teasing the design of the OPPO smartwatch over the past several weeks and recently gave us a partial glimpse of what the product will look like. Fortunately, 91mobiles has gotten its hands on an exclusive live image of the OPPO smartwatch courtesy noted tipster Ben Geskin. The live image gives us our first complete look at the OPPO smartwatch, from the curved display to the black watch straps. The smartwatch will have a square-shaped form factor and two buttons on the right side, which we have also seen in an earlier render shared by Shen.

The live image provided by Ben Geskin gives us a clear look at the OPPO smartwatch’s dual curved glass display. The 3D glass protecting the AMOLED display has a higher curvature compared to the curved glass on the Apple Watch, and the OPPO VP has expressed his excitement about this design choice in the past, calling it a “game changer.”

While the square-shaped body will draw comparisons to the Apple Watch, the buttons on the side are made to look different. There are two flat buttons on the side, which should allow the user to control the UI like starting and pausing workouts, selecting different modes, and going back to the main watch face, among other things.

The OPPO smartwatch live image also shows the Settings menu where we see options like the Multifunction Button, Battery, Password, and more. Lastly, we can see the silicone watch straps in black colour, which is, again, very Apple Watch-like. A previous image shared by Shen also hints at optional leather straps.

OPPO is yet to announce an official launch date for the OPPO smartwatch. It is possible that the company will unveil the watch alongside the OPPO Find X2 launch, which has now been scheduled to take place on March 6th.
