“The Panasonic Eluga Z1 and Eluga Z1 Pro are the latest mid-range Android offerings from Panasonic with dual cameras and Helio P22 chipset”

Panasonic has updated its Eluga smartphone series with the launch of the Z1 and Z1 Pro. The new handsets bridge the gap between the company’s flagship Eluga X1/ X1 Pro and budget Eluga Ray 530 smartphones, both launched earlier this month. The mid-range Eluga Z1 and Eluga Z1 Pro pack a tall notched display, dual-rear camera setup, a beefy battery and decent chipset.

Coming to the specifications, both Eluga Z1 and Eluga Z1 Pro sport a 6.29-inch HD+ (720 x 1,500 pixels) display and a MediaTek Helio P22 chipset. The phones are powered by a 4,000mAh battery, which should last more than a day on heavy to moderate usage. The only thing that set the two devices apart is the RAM and storage. While the Eluga Z1 equips a 3GB of RAM and 32GB storage, the Z1 Pro gets a 4GB of RAM and 64GB storage. The storage on both models is expandable up to 128GB with a microSD card.

In the camera department, both Eluga Z1 and Z1 Pro feature dual 13MP + 2MP sensors on the rear with LED flash and an 8MP shooter with flash up front for selfies and video calling. The cameras also integrate features like bokeh, time lapse, slow motion, beauty mode, backlight, live photos, and group selfie. Additionally, Panasonic claims that the cameras are backed by AI that enables advanced photography and delivers great results. The smartphones have a Facemoji feature to create your digital emoji.

The handsets run Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box and come with ARBO Hub that “provides users access to multiple apps and services on a single platform and uses Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to make recommendations.” Other features include a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and connectivity options such as 4G VoLTE, dual-SIM, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, USB OTG support and a micro USB.
