- Pixel 6 Pro captures good detail in bright light and indoor images, as well as in videos, DxOMark said in its blog post
- Pixel 6 Pro managed to come ahead of Samsung and ASUS flagship phones in terms of camera performance
- Google’s latest flagship also got a respectable selfie camera score in the test
Pixel 6 Pro might help Google earn back the reputation of offering some of the best cameras on smartphones if we go by the phone’s DxOMark score. The latest Pixel smartphone has already earned rave reviews from critics and users but considering that the original Pixel managed to stand out due to its camera performance, earning DxOMark’s nod might mean a whole lot. In the camera test conducted by DxOMark, the Pixel 6 Pro managed to score 135, which means that the handset only falls behind Huawei P50 Pro, Mi 11 Ultra, Mate 40 series, and iPhone 13 series. Considering that we are talking about the cream of the crop here, Pixel 6 Pro’s position on the list is not just respectable but impressive.
In terms of positives, DxOMark says that the Pixel 6 Pro manages to capture good detail in bright light and indoor images, as well as in videos. The benchmark website added that the phone managed to capture good shadow detail and contrast. Even in terms of colour accuracy in photos and videos, the phone managed to deliver good results. Apart from this, the fast and accurate autofocus in bright light and indoor conditions was also appreciated by DxOMark. However, in terms of negatives, the benchmark website highlighted that the narrow depth of field results in blurry background subjects in group shots and there is noticeable noise in indoor and low-light images. The ultra-wide camera was said to be not as wide as the one offered by the competition.
In its blog post, DxOMark said, “With a DXOMARK Camera overall score of 135 the Google Pixel 6 Pro puts Google back into the group of manufacturers that is battling it out for the smartphone camera crown, making the device, at least from an imaging point of view, the best option for Android users in the US market by surpassing the competition from Samsung and ASUS.“
Even in the selfie camera test, the Google 6 Pro got an impressive score of 102, which means it is only behind Huawei flagship phones in terms of selfie camera performance, which is a great feat.
