“The MIUI 11 is the latest iteration of Xiaomi’s custom skin, announced alongside Mi MIX Alpha and Mi 9 Pro 5G this week”
The POCO F1 smartphone has been confirmed to get the MIUI 11 – the latest version of Android skin, which Xiaomi unveiled earlier this week. Alvin Tse, the head of Pocophone Global, has confirmed on Twitter that the POCO F1 will get MIUI 11 update when it rolls out globally. This will be a sigh of relief for customers who were furious after the handset was not included in the list of devices getting this new version of Xiaomi’s custom skin. The Chinese OEM has promised that over 40 devices, including Redmi K20 series, Mi 9 series, Mi MIX 3S, Redmi 7A, Redmi 6 series, Redmi Note 5 series, and Redmi Y2, are scheduled to get the MIUI 11 update.
POCO Fans, please don’t worry. We will get MIUI 11 when it rolls out globally. #POCOF1— Alvin Tse (@atytse) September 25, 2019
Xiaomi will start rolling out the stable version of MIUI 11 from mid-October. As far as the features are concerned, the skin adds new ambient always-on display feature, new animations, themes, custom text, and notifications from social media apps. The software comes pre-loaded with Mi Work and Mi Go apps for file sharing between devices and power-saving mode that is claimed to provide a standby time of up to 24 hours with just 5 percent battery respectively. In addition to this, the MIUI also comes with a few visual, new dynamic font, and new notification sounds.
In related news, the successor to POCO F1 could launch in India soon. The handset will reportedly be dubbed as POCO F2 and sport a dot-notch display and dual rear cameras. The POCO F2 could be powered by Snapdragon 855 SoC paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB storage. The phone is expected to be an ultra-affordable flagship and could be priced Rs 20,000 – Rs 22,000 bracket.
