POCO F7 global variant bags FCC certification, launch seems imminent

Highlights
  • The FCC listing reveals connectivity options like 5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and NFC.
  • FCC is a US-based certification agency, suggesting the phone’s launch in the US.
  • POCO F7 is said to be a rebrand of the Redmi Turbo 4 Pro.

For those interested in a phone that offers top-end specifications at a competitive price point, POCO is yet to launch its base flagship model, the POCO F7. The company, back in March, unveiled the POCO F7 Ultra and POCO F7 Pro models in global markets. It is widely believed that the POCO F7 will be a rebrand of the Redmi Turbo 4 Pro, which was launched in China last month. The POCO F7 is also expected to launch in India alongside the F7 Ultra. While we wait for the announcement, Xpertpick has spotted the global variant of the POCO F7 on the FCC certification.

POCO F7 FCC details

  • The US-based FCC (Federal Communications Commission) listing shows the model number 25053PC47G. The ‘G’ at the end could be referring to global. The brand name mentioned is POCO.
  • To recall, the 25053PC47I, which is believed to be the POCO F7 Indian variant, received the BIS certification last month.
  • While the listing doesn’t mention the marketing name, the IMEI database listing revealed that the model number indeed belongs to the POCO F7.
  • The FCC listing shows connectivity options like 5G, 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, NFC, and Bluetooth.
  • It also confirms the phone will boot HyperOS 2.0, which could be based on Android 15 OS.
  • One of the certification images shows the handset will sport a centre-positioned punch-hole cutout for the selfie snapper.

POCO F7 specifications (expected)

Considering the POCO F7 is indeed a rebrand of the Redmi Turbo 4 Pro, the specifications could also be identical.

  • Display: The POCO F7 is likely to sport a 6.83-inch 1.5K OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, up to 480Hz touch sampling rate, 3,200 nits peak brightness, Dolby Vision, Corning Gorilla Glass 7i and 3,840Hz PWM Dimming.
  • Cameras: The phone may house a 50MP Sony LYT600 primary camera with OIS and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens. It could get a 20MP shooter on the front for selfies.
  • Processor: The POCO phone could be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset with up to 3.21 GHz clock speed, paired with Adreno GPU. It is a powerful chip, a step below Qualcomm’s flagship chip.
  • Battery: It could get a whopping 7,550mAh battery with 90W fast charging and 22.5W wired reverse fast charging.
  • Others: An in-display fingerprint sensor, an IP66/68/69 rating for water and dust resistance, an IR blaster for remote control, and 6,000mm² 3D dual-loop ice-sealed heat dissipation.

Should you wait for POCO F7

If you’re looking for high-end performance, long battery life, and a flagship-grade display, possibly in a value-for-money package, the POCO F7 is worth waiting for.

The Redmi Turbo 4 Pro launched in China at CNY 2,199 (around Rs 25,800). And to recall, the POCO F6 launched in India at Rs 29,999. The new POCO handset is tipped to launch around this month’s end.
