POCO Pad is all set to make its debut in India, after launching in the global market earlier this year in May. It’s the first tablet from POCO. Ahead of its launch, a Flipkart teaser reveals the availability and imminent launch of the POCO Pad in India. Let’s check out everything that we know so far about the POCO Pad’s India launch.
POCO Pad India launch, Flipkart availability
The Flipkart teaser of the POCO Pad confirms that the device will be purchasable from the platform. However, it doesn’t reveal a precise launch date of the POCO Pad, but in a recent interview with Digit, POCO India Head, Himanshu Tandon, hinted that the device will hit the Indian shores by August this year.
Besides this, the POCO Pad 5G variant recently visited the BIS certification website with the model number 24074PCD2I, similar to the recently launched Redmi Pad Pro 5G‘s 24074RPD2I model number. While the global unit doesn’t have cellular connectivity, the BIS certification of the India variant suggests that the POCO Pad may launch with both Wi-Fi only and 5G options.
Moreover, the Redmi Pad Pro 5G (review) has the same specifications as the POCO Pad’s global model, and the Indian unit of the POCO Pad may ship with a similar hardware configuration.

POCO Pad alternatives
Since the POCO Pad may come with the same hardware specifications as the Redmi Pad Pro 5G, it will directly compete with it in the country. In India, the Redmi Pad Pro 5G starts at Rs 21,999 for the Wi-Fi-only model and the 5G version retails at a starting price of Rs 24,999.
The POCO Pad could launch with a similar price tag in India. In that price range, the Honor Pad 9 and the OnePlus Pad Go will make a good alternative to the POCO Pad. However, the POCO Pad has a better chipset and battery capacity than its competitors.
