- POCO Pop Buds will be the name of the company’s upcoming truly wireless earbuds
- POCO Pop Buds should take on the Realme Buds Air in the affordable TWS earphones category
POCO Pop Buds is the official moniker of the company’s upcoming truly wireless earbuds. The brand’s general manager C Manmohan conducted a poll on Twitter this week, asking fans to choose between four potential names for the upcoming POCO TWS earbuds. The options included Move Buds, Klip Buds, Pop Buds, and Funkz. Over 42 percent of people voted fort POCO Pop Buds, and this is what the company will be calling its upcoming true wireless earphones. To recall, POCO confirmed its foray into the TWS segment back in April through a similar Twitter poll.
Citing the recent stats, POCO says the Indian wearables market had registered a growth of 168.3 percent last year where ear-worn devices gained huge appeal among the consumers. The brands said that rapid advancement in technologies will only fuel this growth going ahead. As for the POCO Pop Buds, an exact launch date in India hasn’t been set yet. We should know more details going forward now that the company has decided the name. The POCO Pop Buds should take on the Realme Buds Air in the affordable TWS category.
Separately, Redmi AirDots or the newer Redmi AirDots S could launch in India soon as the brand started teasing the launch of a new audio product. The #NoStringsAttached hashtag suggests the brand may indeed launch truly wireless earphones in the country. The brand recently released the Mi True Wireless Earphones 2 at Rs 4,499 (Rs 3,999 special introductory price) and with the Redmi earbuds, it seems to be aiming to expand the TWS line-up.
