With the POCO X3 price in India starting from Rs 16,999, the brand has launched a worthy replacement to the outgoing POCO X2. The new POCO phone will look to dominate the sub-Rs 20,000 segment, but the phone has a tough challenge ahead from the Realme 7 Pro (review). The POCO X3 comes with a 120Hz punch-hole display, Snapdragon 732G SoC, 64MP quad cameras, and a beefy 6,000mAh battery. While the Realme 7 Pro price in India is comparatively higher than the POCO X3, it does offer specs like 65W fast charging and an AMOLED display under Rs 20,000. Here’s a quick look at how the two phones compare in the segment and which one offers more bang for the buck. 

POCO X3 vs Realme 7 Pro: Price in India

The POCO X3 price in India starts at Rs 16,999 for the base variant with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage. The handset also comes in 6GB RAM + 128GB storage and 8GB RAM + 128GB storage options, priced at Rs 18,499 and Rs 19,999, respectively. The phone will be available for sale from September 29th in Shadow Gray and Cobalt Blue colour options.

Realme 7 Pro India price starts at Rs 19,999 sticker price for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant, while the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage option costs Rs 21,999. The handset comes in Mirror Blue and Mirror Silver colour options. The handset can be bought via flash sale from Realme.com and Flipkart.

POCO X3 vs Realme 7 Pro: Design

Design-wise, the POCO X3 and Realme 7 Pro both come with near bezel-less displays with a punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera and that’s where the similarities end. The Realme smartphone has the camera cutout on the top left corner of the screen. Around the back, the phone features a quad camera setup and LED flash in a rectangular module. The handset comes with an in-display fingerprint scanner for security. As for POCO X3, it sports a centred punch-hole cutout with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The phone also touts quad-camera setup with LED flash, which is placed at the centre of the back panel.

POCO X3 vs Realme 7 Pro: Specifications

As far as the specifications go, the POCO X3 ships with a 6.67-inch FHD+ LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, and Gorilla Glass 5 protection atop. The phone supports HDR10 and Widevine L1 certification. The handset is powered by Snapdragon 732G SoC coupled with up to 8GB RAM and 128GB user-expandable storage. For photography, the POCO X3 packs 64MP quad-camera setup at the back that includes Sony IMX682 primary sensor, a 13MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a couple of 2MP sensors for depth and macro shots. The handset features a 20MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calling.

The handset is driven by a beefy 6,000mAh battery, which is backed by 33W fast charging support. Software-wise, the POCO X3 boots MIUI 12 atop Android 10 with POCO Launcher 2.0 out of the box. There is a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for security. Other features include IP53 certification for splash resistance, dual stereo speakers, IR blaster, 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, aptX HD, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack

The Realme 7 Pro, on the other hand, has a 6.4-inch FHD+ sAMOLED display but with a standard 60Hz refresh rate. At the core of the handset lies Snapdragon 720G SoC paired with up to 8GB RAM and 128GB storage onboard. The quad rear camera setup includes a 64MP Sony IMX682 primary sensor, an 8MP (f/2.3) wide-angle lens, 2MP (f/2.4) B/W portrait camera, and a 2MP (f/2.4) macro lens. The phone gets a 32MP front-facing camera and a 4,500mAh battery. Notably, the Realme 7 Pro supports 65W SuperDart Charge fast charging support. This makes it the fastest charging phone in the sub-Rs 20,000 segment. The handset also comes with dual stereo speakers and connectivity options such as 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Our POCO X3 review is not out yet, so we will reserve our judgement on the smartphone. Going by the specs on paper, the POCO X3 looks like a solid successor to the POCO X2 and is impressively priced at Rs 16,999. The USP of the phone is its 120Hz display and 6,000mAh battery. The Realme 7 Pro is a tough phone to beat in this segment as it boasts of a 65W fast charging support and an AMOLED display.
