Shortly after introducing the POCO X5 Pro in India, the Xiaomi spin-off brand has launched the POCO X5 5G in global markets. The smartphone is a mid-range 5G device, and has been introduced at around the same price as the average selling price of smartphones in India at the moment. The device comes with a host of competitive specifications, but ranks a notch below the POCO X5 Pro that was launched in India on Monday, February 6.
POCO X5 5G price, availability
The POCO X5 5G has been announced for a number of international markets, including the US. The smartphone has been unveiled in two variants, with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, and 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. The devices are priced at $249 (about Rs 20,500) and $299 (about Rs 25,000), respectively.
POCO X5 5G specifications
The POCO X5 5G features a 6.67-inch full HD+ AMOLED display, which also offers a 120Hz refresh rate, 1,200 nits peak brightness, and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 screen protection. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G SoC, which is a mid-range 5G-ready chip. However, this is in contrast to the POCO X5 Pro being powered by a Snapdragon 778G 5G chip.
As stated above, RAM and storage options of the smartphone include two variants — one with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, and the other with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage.
To the rear, the POCO X5 5G features a 48MP primary rear camera, along with 8MP ultrawide and 2MP macro additional cameras. To the front, it houses a 13MP selfie shooter in a drill-hole slot. The entire setup is powered by a 5,000mAh battery, with 33W fast charging in tow.
The device measures 7.98mm in thickness, and weighs 189 grams. It also has IP53 dust resistance, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, a 3.5mm audio port, and a microSD card slot for storage expansion as well.
