“Apple announced the iOS 12.2 at ‘It’s Show Time’ event at the Steve Jobs Theater yesterday and the software update is already rolling out“
Last night, Apple took to stage at the Steve Jobs Theater to announce a number of services, including the Apple TV+, Apple News+, Apple Arcade Gaming Subscription, and the Apple Card. At the same event, the company also announced iOS 12.2 and macOS Mojave 10.14.4. The former has already started rolling out for Apple devices and 9to5Mac has pointed out an interesting discovery in the software.
According to the publication, there are several illustrations inside the iOS 12.2 and some of these reveal upcoming earphones from Apple. There have been rumours floating around that the Cupertino-based tech giant is gearing up to launch a “truly wireless” version of Beats Powerbeats. The latest iOS 12.2 seems to contain the images of the same and reveal the name to be the ‘Powerbeats Pro’. In terms of design, the Powerbeats Pro looks identical to Powerbeats3 except for the wireless charging case. The charging case looks a lot like the case of AirPods and is designed to charge the earbuds on the go. The imagery shows the Powerbeats Pro in white and black hues.
Earlier rumours have suggested that the Powerbeats Pro will be launched by the company next month, however, the exact date is not known at the moment. The reports also suggest that the new earphones will be equipped with the same upgraded H1 chip as the second-generation AirPods and have the ‘Hey Siri’ support. The user interface of iOS 12.2 also reveals that the Powerbeats Pro will be able to activate the smart assistant by voice command.
Unfortunately, nothing else is known about the upcoming earphones at the moment. Stay tuned in for more updates regarding the upcoming earphones from Apple.
