Sony has announced new free games for PS Plus Extra and Deluxe users that will arrive in August. The fantastic Yakuza series will be added to the PS Plus games catalogue. The classic Yakuza games from Yakuza 0 to Yakuza 6 will be added to the service over time, alongside the latest entry in the franchise, Yakuza: Like a Dragon. Four Yakuza games will be added this month, with the remaining ones scheduled to come later this year. Yakuza games have great gangster drama stories, with some of the goofiest side quests and a world packed with interesting activities.

Out of these, Yakuza: Like a Dragon will be available August 4th onwards and it can be downloaded by PS Plus Essential tier members as well. All PS Plus subscribers will also get Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 and Little Nightmares as part of the PS Plus Essential line-up for August. Besides these, Yakuza 3 Remastered, Yakuza 4 Remastered, Yakuza 5 Remastered, and Yakuza 6: The Song of Life will be added over the coming months for Deluxe tier subscribers. Yakuza 6: The Song of Life will be available for PS Plus Extra tier users as well.
Yakuza 0 to Yakuza 6 are known for their beat ’em-up style of combat alongside the dramatic story of Kazuma Kiryu. Although the maps are relatively small compared to most AAA open-world games, they are filled with various places like arcade centres, karaoke, restaurants, discos, bars, and more, and with activities like RC racing, mini-games, kart racing, running businesses, and others. Yakuza: Like a Dragon takes the franchise to a somewhat different direction, with action RPG gameplay and a story about new protagonist, Ichiban Kasuga. Although many elements of the series have been changed, Like a Dragon manages to hold on to some of the most charming aspects of the franchise.
