“After acquiring local music service Dhingana in 2014, Rdio finally enters India”
San Francisco-based music streaming service provider Rdio has commenced its operations in India. The service offers a vast library of 32 million songs on the web, Android and iOS powered smartphones. The company showed its interest for the Indian market by acquiring the local music service Dhingana in March last year.
Rdio offers free internet radio experience, and provides an on-demand subscription for Rs 120 per month which let you access songs offline as well. It lets you browse through various radio stations, shows tracks based on your music preferences, and offers music in 43 languages from global and local labels.
The service has partnered with music identification apps including Shazam and SoundHound. It also supports Google Chromecast, and provides streaming music services for Volvo’s in-dash systems, Pioneer’s AppRadioLive, and Harman Aha Radio.
