Realme 2 Pro to receive OTA update with camera optimisation, November Android security patch this week

Realme will start rolling out a new OTA update to the Realme 2 Pro in India this week. The new update, which was confirmed by company CEO Madhav Sheth, will bring a new ColorOS version. The ColorOS version will bring optimisations, fixes and the Android Security Patch for November. The Realme 2 Pro currently runs ColorOS 5.2 based on Android 8.1 Oreo, a version which has been promised for Realme’s other smartphones as well.

According the changelog of the update, provided by Realme, it’ll come with optimisations for the front camera of the Realme 2 Pro, along with optimised reminders for Developer Options and Accessibility Mode. Other additions along with the November security patch include, ability to dismiss notifications with a single swipe and a headset icon in the status bar. According to Madhav Sheth’s tweet, the update will roll out to all Realme 2 Pro phones in a week.

In additional news, Madhav tweeted yesterday that the Realme 2 Pro will receive slow motion video with an OTA update in first quarter of 2019. Soon after, he also announced that RealMe is planning to unlock the bootloader and release the kernel source for Realme 1 in Q1 of 2019.

The Realme 2 Pro is one of the most affordable smartphones in the country with 8GB of RAM and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor. The smartphone sports a 6.3-inch full HD+ display, with 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The Realme 2 Pro offers three RAM options in 4GB, 6GB and 8GB, along with 64GB and 128GB storage options. The device features a 16MP+2MP dual camera setup, along with a 16MP front camera for seflies.
