“The Realme 3 was made official in March 2019, hence it is slightly early to see a Realme 4 leak”
Realme’s two most important offerings this year are the Realme 3 and Realme 3 Pro. And while the former is just roughly three months old, a Realme 4 box leak popped up online over the weekend. The box is wrapped in plastic and has the familiar “4” branding but the source has shared just the front visuals of the box showing nothing of its back. This is the first Realme 4 leak we’ve come across and which is understandable considering the Realme 3 isn’t quite old at all.
The retail packaging’s appearance at such an early stage makes the leak look dubious and it isn’t helped by the fact that the source did not show us its back. Hence, all we’re left with is just the front which doesn’t tell us anything about the Realme 4 itself. Speculation is rife that the Realme 4 Pro could end up being a rebranded Realme X in India. Realme’s India head, Madhav Sheth, has confirmed that the Realme X will be announced in India in the second half of 2019 and won’t necessarily come with the same specifications as the Chinese model.
At this point we don’t know much about the specifications of the Realme 4 but here are the Realme 3 specifications that should allow us to gauge our expectations. The Realme 3, announced in March 2019, is equipped with a MediaTek Helio P60 SoC and 4GB/3GB of RAM. On the surface, it has a 6.22-inch HD+ (720 x 1520 pixels) display fuelled by a 4,230mAh battery and 13MP front and rear cameras. It comes with Android Pie-based Color OS 6.0 out-of-the-box. Realme would have to upgrade in at least some of these areas to make the Realme 4 an upgrade over its predecessor. At this point and time, keep some salt by your side for these rumours.
