Realme has sold over 5.5 million units of Realme 5 series through 2019. The sales figures were revealed by Realme India CEO Madhav Sheth on Twitter. The Realme 5 series includes the Realme 5, Realme 5 Pro and Realme 5s. Notably, all three smartphones tout quad camera setups and a unique crystal-inspired design. Realme 5 series price in India ranges from Rs 8,999 to Rs 15,999, making them competitive budget and mid-range smartphones.

Realme 5 was launched in August 2019, and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 SoC. RAM and storage variants of the phone include 3GB + 32GB, 4GB + 64GB and 4GB + 128GB. Up front, it features a 6.5-inch HD+ display, with a waterdrop notch that houses a 13-megapixel front camera. To the rear, the Realme 5 features a quad camera setup with 12-megapixel primary, 8-megapixel ultrawide, 2-megapixel macro and 2-megapixel depth sensors. The handset houses a 5,000mAh battery and Android 9.0, and is priced onward of Rs 8,999 in India.
Realme 5 Pro, meanwhile, features a 6.3-inch full HD+ display, a Snapdragon 712 SoC, RAM and storage variants of 4GB + 64GB, 6GB + 64GB and 8GB + 128GB, and a quad camera setup including 48-megapixel primary, 8-megapixel ultrawide, 2-megapixel macro and 2-megapixel depth sensors. The front camera uses a 16-megapixel sensor, and the 4,035mAh battery supports 20W fast charging. The smartphone is priced onward of Rs 12,999 in India.
Realme 5s was launched much later, in November 2019. It features a near identical feature and specification list to the Realme 5, apart from upgrading the primary camera unit to a 48-megapixel unit. To accommodate for the superior camera unit, the Realme 5s is priced at Rs 9,999 in India. What’s interesting to note is that despite selling in India only for the second half of 2019, Realme’s three budget smartphones managed to stack up sales figures of over 5.5 million devices.
