“Realme 6 is rumoured to be powered by the Helio G90 processor and may come with an upgraded quad camera setup”
After being spotted on a couple of certification sites, Realme 6 has now surfaced on Flipkart. Tipster Mukul Sharma has spotted the handset on Flipkart affiliate database, suggesting that the Realme 6 launch in India is just around the corner. The phone will succeed the Realme 5, which was launched last year touting a quad camera setup and Snapdragon 665 SoC with a price tag under Rs 10,000. Unfortunately, the Realme 6’s Flipkart listing doesn’t reveal its specifications, but it has been rumoured to e powered by MediaTek’s mid-range Helio G90 chipset and Android 10.
Alright. The Realme 6 is now listed on my Flipkart Affiliate account. I’ve never made any money from affiliates, but this is turning out to be a hub for leaks. 😀#Realme #Realme6 pic.twitter.com/QYbINL4Plc— Mukul Sharma (@stufflistings) February 15, 2020
Realme 6 specifications
As per the Wi-Fi listing, the Realme 6 will have MediaTek Helio G90 chipset under the hood. It’s a gaming-centric octa-core SoC with Mali-G76 GPU and up to 64MP camera support. The chipset is also backed by MediaTek’s HyperEngine that is said to improve gaming and performance in general. The HyperEngine technology includes a Networking Engine (intelligently triggering concurrent Wi-Fi and LTE connections when Wi-Fi degrades), the ability to connect to both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz Wi-Fi simultaneously, intelligent resource management, a Rapid Response Engine (improving touch input), and a Picture Quality Engine (supporting HDR10).
The Realme 6 is further rumoured to run Android 10 out of the box, which will most likely have Realme UI skin running atop. Other features may include a centre-aligned hole-punch display to accommodate the selfie camera, and support for dual SIMs.
Cameras were a big part of the Realme 5 series last year, and we expect to see some upgrades to the Realme 6 series in this department. The Realme 6 could sport a 48MP or 64MP quad camera setup, which would be a significant bump over the 12MP quad cameras on the Realme 5.
Realme 6 expected price
As for the price, the Realme 6 is tipped to cost around RMB 1,000, which translates to roughly Rs 10,000 in the Indian currency. This is on par with its predecessor the Realme 5 price, which also started at Rs 9,999 at the time of launch.
