Realme 6 goes on sale today on Flipkart: 5 reasons you should buy this over Realme 6 Pro

“Realme 6 sale in India begins at 12PM IST today and the phone brings a lot of the same specifications as the Realme 6 Pro, but at a more affordable price point”

Realme 6 will go on sale for the first time in India today at 12PM IST on Flipkart and The smartphone was launched in India alongside the Realme 6 Pro with both models touting specifications like 90Hz displays, 64MP quad cameras and 30W fats charging support. Both the smartphones look attractive given their specs and features, but we believe the Realme 6 (Review) offers more value to consumers compared to the Realme 6 Pro (Review). After reviewing both the Realme 6-series phones, here’s why we believe the Realme 6 is the one to buy during the upcoming sale at 12PM.

Realme 6 price in India is more attractive than Realme 6 Pro

Realme 6 price starts at Rs 12,999 for the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage base model, which makes it an attractive smartphone under Rs 15,000. The 6GB RAM and 128GB storage has been priced at Rs 14,999, while the variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage will retail for Rs 15,999. Meanwhile, the Realme 6 Pro price starts at Rs 16,999, making it a more premium mid-range model for consumers.

The price of the Realme 6 feels more appealing considering it shares a lot of the same specifications as the Pro model, if not better. Meanwhile, the Realme 6 Pro’s price means the phone has to compete against the likes of the Poco X2 which offers a higher 120Hz refresh rate and a more powerful Snapdragon 730G SoC.

Realme 6 rocks a powerful Helio G90T SoC

Both the Realme 6 and 6 Pro are powered by impressive gaming-centric processors, so you can expect a fast and smooth user experience no matter which phone you purchase. The Realme 6 features the MediaTek Helio G90T SoC while the 6 Pro is powered by a Snapdragon 720G Soc. In our Realme 6 review, we found offers a blazing fast performance while gaming on high graphics settings. Notably, the Helio G90T chipset outscores the Snapdragon 720G SoC on AnTuTu benchmark, which suggests the Realme 6 is more powerful than the 6 Pro, at least on paper.

Realme 6 is the cheapest phone with a 90Hz display

With a starting price of Rs 12,999, the Realme 6 is the most affordable phone with a 90Hz display in India. This makes the Realme 6 more appealing for consumers who plan to buy a new smartphone with a high refresh rate in 2020. The 90Hz display on the Realme 6 offers a smooth scrolling experience and makes the phone feel faster than it already is.

The Realme 6 Pro also offers a 90Hz display, but it might not be as appealing to consumers considering you have the POCO X2 that offers a 120Hz refresh rate for a starting price of Rs 15,999.

Realme 6 gets a similar 64MP quad camera setup as Realme 6 Pro

Realme 6 features a 64MP quad camera setup that is not all that different from the Realme 6 Pro. The main sensor on both the smartphones is the 64MP Samsung GW1 sensor, so you will be able to capture high-resolution photos on both the devices. Both the phones also get the same 8MP wide-angle lens and 2MP macro lens. The biggest difference in the camera setups between the two smartphones is that the Realme 6 Pro gets a 12MP telephoto lens with 20x zoom support while the vanilla Realme 6 gets a 2MP mono lens.

If you’re someone who doesn’t use a telephoto camera much, the Realme 6 should serve your camera needs well enough.

Realme 6 also gets the same battery and 30W fast charging support

Lastly, the Realme 6 also gets the same 4,300mAh battery capacity as the Realme 6 Pro. It also supports the same 30W VOOC fats charging technology, which means you should get the same battery life and fast charging experience on both the smartphones. In our review, the Realme 6 on 90Hz refresh rate lasted around 8 hours from 100 percent to 20 percent in our PCMark battery drain test, and around 10 hours on 60Hz display setting. The 30W fast charging can juice up the phone from zero to 100 percent in just under 60 minutes.
