“Realme 6 and Realme 6 Pro smartphones will be the highlight of next week’s launch event, but there will be more”
Realme 6 and Realme 6 Pro launch event next week is among the most eagerly anticipated unveilings in India for the month of March. The event will see the vanilla and Pro models in the series, with features such as 90Hz displays and quad-camera setups that will make these smartphones truly class-leading, at least until the Redmi Note 9 lineup goes official. But the Realme 6 India launch event will see more action including the brand first fitness band, which it has been teasing for a few months now. So let’s take a look at everything we can look forward to from the event:
The regular Realme 6 will be the successor to last year’s Realme 5 and the first punch-hole display smartphone from the brand. The handset is expected to be powered by the MediaTek Helio G90 processor and run Realme UI with Android 10 on top out of the box. For photography, it may sport a 64MP or 48MP main camera, either of which would be a significant improvement over the 12MP sensor on its predecessor. The Realme 6 is likely to sport a beefy battery cell, which will be backed by 30W VOOC fast charging support.
Realme 6 Pro
Realme 6 Pro, on the other hand, will be a slightly upgraded version of the standard Realme 6 smartphone. For starters, the ‘Pro’ variant will pack a display with an elongated punch-hole for dual selfie cameras. The handset could be the cheapest 90Hz display with Full HD+ resolution smartphone. Earlier this week, we reportedly exclusively that the Realme 6 Pro will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G chipset. It’s confirmed to rock a 64MP quad-camera setup, which could be paired with a wide-angle lens, a telephoto lens with 20x zoom support, and a macro lens, at the back. Like its sibling, the Realme 6 Pro is also expected to come with a beefy battery cell with 30W VOOC fast charging support and Android 10-based Realme UI taking care of its software side of things. That’s all we know about the handset at the moment.
The Realme 6 Pro, as well as Realme 6, can be pre-booked from the company’s website by paying a deposit of Rs 1,000. Those booking the Realme 6 will receive the Realme Buds 2 as a gift, while customers booking the Realme 6 Pro will receive a Rs 1,000 voucher for the Realme Buds Wireless, which will be credited to their accounts on March 16th. The pre-booking schemes are valid only until March 4th.
The much-anticipated Realme Band is also slated to launch in India at the Realme 6 event; the vendor has been teasing it since late last year. The fitness band will be available in three colours – Black, Yellow, and a third mystery colour that we will find out at the launch on March 5th. The Realme Band is expected to come pre-loaded with fitness tracking apps, steps count, long-lasting battery life, and customisable watch faces. Additionally, we can also expect the Realme Band to come with features such as calories burned, sleep tracking, music control, smartphone alerts, swimming activity, and many more. The Realme Band will be compatible with the recently launched Realme Link app.
The Realme Band price in India remains unknown at the moment, but it’s likely to compete against the likes of Xiaomi’s Mi Band-series and Honor’s Band-series in India.
What else could be in the pipeline?
The two smartphones and the fitness band are the only products confirmed to be launching at the March 5th event. There may be some announcements around accessories and merchandise too. And as Realme has done on many occasions in the past, it may conclude the event by teasing its upcoming devices. It could be either be Realme smart TV or Realme Buds Air Pro, or maybe both as the two have been doing the rounds of the internet for quite some time. Teasers for the smartwatch can also be expected from the event. We hope to learn more about the devices from the brand at the event, so stay tuned to 91mobiles.
