A new Realme smartphone with the model number Realme RMX2040 was spotted on several certification websites, including the likes of the Indian BIS certification and the SIRIN certification, a little while ago. The same model number has now been spotted on the Thailand NBTC certification website which has confirmed the Realme 6i moniker. Considering that the handset has made an appearance at these many certification websites, it won’t be a long stretch to say that the Realme 6i could be unveiled by the brand in the near future.

As seen in the certification image, the Realme 6i (with the model number RMX2040) recently popped up on the NBTC certification website. Sadly, the certification does not reveal anything about the specifications offered by the device. That said, since the Realme 5i was launched as a toned-down variant of the Realme 5 smartphone, we can certainly expect the Realme 6i to be a stripped-down variant of the yet-to-be-announced Realme 6. The certification also confirms that the Realme 6 series might be right around the corner. The Realme 6 smartphone, however, has been in and around in the rumour mill for quite some time now. The rumours have suggested that the device will feature a centrally-aligned punch-hole camera setup. For now, little is known about the upcoming Realme 6 series of smartphones, but we are sure to receive further intel on the same in the coming days.
Realme 5i specifications
Just in case you are wondering as to what the Realme 6i could have in store, let’s have a quick look at what the Realme 5i features to get a rough idea. The device sports a 6.5-inch HD+ display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3+ protection. Under the hood, the Realme 5i is powered with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 SoC which is coupled with 4 gigs of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. At the back, the device features a quad camera setup (12-mp primary camera + 8-megapixel wide-angle lens + 2-megapixel depth sensor + 2-megapixel macro lens) and a physical fingerprint scanner. At the front, the device sports an 8-megapixel selfie shooter embedded underneath a waterdrop notch.
